Psalm 48 A SONG. A PSALM OF THE SONS OF KORAH.
Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised in the city of our God! His holy mountain,
2 beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King.
3 Within her citadels God has made himself known as a fortress.
4 For behold, the kings assembled; they came on together.
5 As soon as they saw it, they were astounded; they were in panic; they took to flight.
6 Trembling took hold of them there, anguish as of a woman in labor.
7 By the east wind you shattered the ships of Tarshish.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God, which God will establish forever. Selah
9 We have thought on your steadfast love, O God, in the midst of your temple.
10 As your name, O God, so your praise reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness.
11 Let Mount Zion be glad! Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments!
12 Walk about Zion, go around her, number her towers,
13 consider well her ramparts, go through her citadels, that you may tell the next generation
14 that this is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.

1 Canto. Salmo dei figli di Core.
2 Grande è il Signore, degno di lode nella città del nostro Dio. Il suo monte santo, magnifica altura,
3 porta gioia a tutta la terra.Il monte Sion, sede divina,è la città del grande re.
4 Tra i palazzi di Sion,è Dio inespugnabile fortezza.
5 I re si erano alleati,uniti avanzavano all'attacco.
6 Alla vista di Sion rimasero stupefatti e, spaventati, si diedero alla fuga.
7 Furono presi da tremiti di paura,si agitavano come partorienti,
8 come navi squassate dal vento d'oriente.
9 Tutto questo l'avevamo udito;ora l'abbiamo visto con i nostri occhi nella città del Signore dell'universo,qui, nella città del nostro Dio.
Egli l'ha resa stabile per sempre.
10 Qui, nel tuo tempio, o Dio,celebriamo il tuo amore.
11 La nostra lode come la tua gloria giunge agli estremi confini del mondo. La tua mano è colma di salvezza,
12 si rallegri il monte Sion. Tu giudichi con giustizia, gioiscano le città di Giuda.
13 Sfilate in corteo intorno a Sion, contate le sue torri,
14 ammirate le sue mura, contemplate i suoi palazzi! Potrete dire alle generazioni future:
15 "Questo è il nostro Dio per sempre, è lui la nostra guida".

1 Poème. Chant. Des Benéi Qorah.
2 Il est grand, YHWH, très louangé, en ville de notre Elohim, au mont de son sanctuaire.
3 Beau belvedere, liesse di toute la terre, mont Sion, aux confins du septentrion, la cite du roi grandiose.
4 Elohim, en ses chateaux, se révèle cittadelle
5 Oui,voici, les rois se liguaient, ils se déployaient ensemble.
6 Ils voient, eux -memes,ainsi étonnés, s'affolent et se precipitant
7 Une secousse les saisit là, le spasme d'une parturiente.
8 Au soufflé du levant ,tu as brisé les navires de Tarshish.
9 Comme nous l'entendimes, nous les vimes,dans la ville de YHWH Sebaot, dans la ville de notre Elohim:Elohim l'affermit jusq'en pérennité.Sèlah
10 Nous méditons, Elohim, ton chérissement, à l'intérieur de ton palais.
11 Tel est ton nom, Elohim, telle est ta louange, aux confins de la terre; la justice remplit ta droite.
12 Le mont Sion se réjouit;les filles de Iehouda exultent en tes jugements.
13 Tournez, contournez Sion, comptez ses tours.
14 Placez votre coeur en son glacis, gravissez ses chateaux pour le raconteur à l'age dernier.
15 Oui, voici, Elohim est notre Elohim, en pérennité, à jamais. Lui- meme nous conduit au-delà de la mort.

Cantico. Salmo. Dei figli di Core.
2 Grande è il Signore e degno di ogni lode nella città del nostro Dio.La tua santa montagna,
3 altura stupenda,è la gioia di tutta la terra. Il monte Sion, vera dimora divina,è la capitale del grande re.
4 Dio nei suoi palazzi un baluardo si è dimostrato.
5 Ecco, i re si erano alleati, avanzavano insieme.
6 Essi hanno visto:atterriti, presi dal panico, sono fuggiti.
7 Là uno sgomento li ha colti, doglie come di partoriente,
8 simile al vento orientale,che squarcia le navi di Tarsis.
9 Come avevamo udito, così abbiamo visto nella città del Signore degli eserciti,nella città del nostro Dio; Dio l'ha fondata per sempre.
10 O Dio, meditiamo il tuo amore dentro il tuo tempio.
11 Come il tuo nome, o Dio, così la tua lode si estende sino all'estremità della terra; di giustizia è piena la tua destra.
12 Gioisca il monte Sion,esultino i villaggi di Giuda a causa dei tuoi giudizi.
13 Circondate Sion, giratele intorno, contate le sue torri,
14 osservate le sue mura,passate in rassegna le sue fortezze, per narrare alla generazione futura:
15 questo è Dio, il nostro Dio in eterno e per sempre; egli è colui che ci guida in ogni tempo.
